Real Reviews from our Customers
from 431 reviewsUsed this as part of a home-built smoker project...was super easy to install and it works as advertised. About the only suggestion I could make is that the diagram in the manual for where to drill holes and cutout the square space isn't to scale. I made one up myself, stuck it on the side, drilled/cut, no problem.
For DIYer's, this kit is great -- it does all the sourcing of the individual components, puts them together into a nice package, and makes it far easier to get into the automated smoking world than it was a few years ago. Good value for the money.
My Traeger is just over a year old and the auger motor quit working I found the part at Direct Ignite. The description was clear and easy to know it would work on my model. Very easy to order and shipping right on time. The exchange of parts was simple and fast and my Traeger is running smoothly and efficiently better than ever, I'm a 71 year old widow and replaced the motor with no problems.
Picked up a lightly used Smoke Hollow Pro 44" cabinet smoker from a buddy but wanted to use wood pellets instead of the installed propane burners. Found the 12" hopper fit perfectly underneath the existing baseplate with a little trimming of the existing legs and lined up with a factory cutout in the bottom that placed the burner pot about 6 to 8 inches under the water pan. For our first smoke we chose pork ribs and chicken leg quarters. We used a wood pellet blend, filled the hopper then just hit start. Within a few minutes the first whiffs of smoke appeared and by 5 minutes we had a good blaze going in the fire pot. I set the temp to 220* expecting it to take a while to get to temp like my old smoker but the unit brought the cabinet up to temp within 5 minutes and held it steady throughout the 4 hour smoke! I am very impressed with the unit, it is easy to install, simple to use and created a great result on the meat we smoked. I am now looking to upgrade the unit with the wireless adapter when it becomes available. Thank you for making such an affordable product that is so easy to install.
I’ve got a damn good smoker fabricated with good steel, I made my own add-ins to it, and I have it seasoned and sealed up with in/out vents how I like it…but then went to my buddys house and saw the magic of the pellet smoker. I got the best of both worlds here, because I added it to the opposite side of the existing firebox. I can go old school if I need, but don’t honestly plan on it. Only tiny complaint is my kit didn’t come with a template, maybe a mistake, but really if you are gonna do a conversion like this it’s a minor inconvenience. Measure your own template, mark it, drill it, done. Bottom line, it works good and is tiny fraction of price of new one.
Works and is a perfect swap for my OEM igniter which crapped out after 14 years.
Found a how to video on YouTube with this company's info ordered the part worked perfect i would reccomend!!!
